Co-founder Dr. Jungsang Kim interests include Micro Electro mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology for quantum information processing.   While at Bell Laboratories he assembled the world's first large-scale all-optical switch using MEMS technology. Dr. Kim is an Associate Professor In the Duke University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.  His Multifunctional Integrated Systems Technology research group includes optical system design, photonic materials and devices, design and fabrication of MEMS devices/sensors, and Si and III-V heterogeneous integration.


Co-founder Dr. David Brady is a research leader in computational image system design, and pioneered optical sensor miniaturization based on multichannel sampling. As a Professor of Electrical Engineering, he directs the Duke University Imaging and Spectroscopy Program, where he serves as Principal Investigator of the Compressive Optical MONTAGE Photography Initiative and Maximally scalable Optical Sensor Array Imaging with Computation (MOSAIC). He was also a founder of Distant Focus Corporation and of the Centice Corporation.

Co-founder Dr. Felix Lu received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California at San Diego in 2004, he then worked at the Boeing Satellite Development Center in El Segundo,  California in the Technology Qualification Group under Dr. Bruce Paine. He  is currently also a visiting research scientist in the department of electrical and computer engineering at Duke University. His expertise are in the areas of Si and III-V heterogeneous integration,  materials and device design, processing, fabrication, and characterization.



Co-founder Dr. Scott McCain is a senior research engineer.  He has extensive research and development experience for customer projects involving multi-aperture cameras, micro-spectrometers, hyperspectral imaging, and optical diagnostics. He has experience in optical design and simulation, mechanical design, and algorithm design and testing.  He is also proficient with design software including Matlab, Labview, ZEMAX lens design software, and Solidworks CAD.
